Denne metode til str\u00f8mdistribution er mere effektiv og p\u00e5lidelig til at levere store m\u00e6ngder elektricitet over lange afstande sammenlignet med enfasestr\u00f8m.<\/p><p>I et trefaset str\u00f8msystem er der tre sp\u00e6ndingsf\u00f8rende ledninger (eller faser) og ofte en neutral ledning. Hver sp\u00e6ndingsf\u00f8rende ledning f\u00f8rer en vekselstr\u00f8m, der n\u00e5r sit h\u00f8jdepunkt en tredjedel af cyklussen efter den foreg\u00e5ende fase.
